Panthers Add Two, While Transferring Three to Inactive List

As Panthers players report to training camp, Coach Nolan and his staff have already been hard at work trying to build their championship roster. This week the Panthers added DB Josh Butler and DL Ron’Dell Carter while placing 2nd year players DL Walter Palmore and Jalin Burrell on the inactive list.

Butler a veteran of the 2021 Spring League, joins the Panthers secondary for his 2nd going at Alt-Football. Butler spent 2015 to 2019 at Michigan State, totaling 54 tackles as a part time starter for the Spartans. Butler is also extremely prominent on social media totaling over 300 thousand followers throughout his accounts. The Panthers also brought in NFL veteran Ron”Dell Carter, who was recently with the New England Patriots in October of 2022. Carter put together an All-Conference career at James Madison University, however went undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft. Carter appeared in one NFL game for the Houston Texans in 2021, and recorded a tackle for the team. The Michigan Panthers is his first experience in Alt-Football.

In corresponding moves, as mentioned the Panthers placed Walter Palmore and Jalin Burrell on their inactive list. Palmore recorded 17 tackles in 2022, after being brought in of April during training camp. Jalin Burrell, a CFL vet was also another late signing for the Panthers, replacing Warren Saba in 2022. Burrell recorded 28 tackles for the Panthers in a reserve role on Dan Carrel’s 2022 Defense. LB Leon Jacobs a new signing from December was also placed on the inactive list March 20th.

With training camp in full effect teams will have till April 10th to cut down their rosters to 50. With the Panthers already making transactions, it appears that the Mike Nolan is already retooling the roster in hopes of bringing Michigan their 2nd championship in their franchise history.
