Showboats Sign WKU Wide Receiver Daewood Davis

With an impending merger with the XFL inbound, the Showboats continued to sign “fresh faces” to their roster for 2024. On September 13th Memphis brought in a talented Receiver from Western Kentucky Daewood Davis to supplement an already talented Wide Receiver room.

Davis comes to the USFL after a stint with the Miami Dolphins during 2023 training camp. The 6-2 195-pound Wideout suffered an injury during camp, forcing him to be waived at the end of final cuts with an injury settlement. Collegiately Davis spent time at Oregon and Western Kentucky totaling 116 Receptions for 1,736 yards and 16 touchdowns during Six seasons at the FBS level.

Davis joins a Wide Receiver room that currently hosts veterans like Derrick Dillon, Rashard Davis and Vinny Papale. With the USFL’s free agency period currently set to begin on October 1st, look for more roster movement from all Eight USFL teams, while both the USFL and XFL begin to finalize their merger.
