Stallions Add Jace Sternberger to Solidify Tight End Room

After losing Sage Surratt to the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers and trading Kyle Markway the Birmingham Stallions added another Tight End on Thursday. The Stallions added NFL veteran Jace Sternberger who was recently in camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers and had a late season workout with the Cleveland Browns.

Sternberger came into the NFL in the 3rd Round in the 2019 NFL Draft after spending time at Kansas and Texas A&M. Sternberger was thought to be a sleeper pick however never really reached his potential while with the Packers. The All-American Tight End has bounced around Four NFL teams, totaling 12 Receptions for 114 Yards and One Touchdown in 18 NFL games.

The Stallions go into 2023 with Cary Angeline and Sternberger as their two Tight Ends. Angeline last year totaled 9 receptions for 152 yards and One Touchdown. The addition of Sternberger gives the Stallions a dynamic playmaking tight end whose been hampered by injuries and missed opportunities. With the addition of Myron Mitchell, Austin Watkins, and Rico Gafford coupled with the return of Marlon Williams the Stallions are set to have a dynamic passing attack for J’Mar Smith and Alex McGough.
