USFL Talking New Northern Hub City In Philadelphia, Talks Expansion

According to Marc Bona of Cleveland.com, in his conversation with New Orleans Breakers Head Coach Larry Fedora. A second hub city and possible expansion could come to the USFL in season two.

All four playoff coaches stopped in Cleveland before making the trek to Canton for the USFL playoffs at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. They met the media, and Coach Fedora dropped these two tidbits.

“There’s no doubt about it, it’s proven this spring there is definitely a place for pro football in the spring. With the financial support we have and the TV package we have, it’s a no-brainer. Going forward it will be interesting to see if they change hubs this next year or two to build another following for another team.”

He talks about the possibility of the north and south hub city.

“There’s rumors that we may have a north hub and a south hub… and there’s talk of adding teams, also. So you have the north hub and south hub, and they come together for the playoffs, so you still wouldn’t have travel.”

USFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations Daryl Johnston mentioned Philly as the choice.

“I’d love to see that northern hub get into the Philadelphia area… So now you can attract from New Jersey, you can attract fans from Pittsburgh.”

For now, this is just talking, but after the season, NBC and FOX executives will start talking about season two. We will have to see if ideas become a reality in 2023.

Hubs will do no good. Each team needs it’s own stadium! Only way.

Two-hub system would be fine for 2nd year. Then in 3rd year go to a 4-quadrant NSEW hub system to develop local fan bases.

In year 4 you place teams in cities with owners!

    LOVE THIS ❤️

Calles Philly early as its the logical choice for both Philly and NJ

Its soccer stadium falls outside Philly along the NJ bordee with a bridge right there and others very close by and its along 95 major highway to get to. Ataying outside philly avoids the high costs in a state thats biz friendly in NE

they can play a full hub or partial hub there

USFl was great fun and Go GENERALS!

not traveling 6 hours east to watch Kirby yell at maulers,
would prefer to keep the 8 team east hub for year 2, add an 8 team west hub in SanAntone, Oklahoma, or Denver.
