The XFL’s news week started bad and only got worse from there. We bring on Matt Lyons from XFL News Hub to talk through the botched logo/brand unveiling, the potential for an XFL “bubble” or hub season, the new rumored XFL cities and XFL coaches, 2 of which have already signed contracts. Does the USFL have the upperhand with it comes to owning the hearts and minds of spring football fans, time will tell!
We also welcome Victor Cui from the Edmonton Elks onto the program. Victor is the new President and CEO of the team and is tasked with the heavy bureden of rebuilding the strained relationship the team has with their current fanbase. Victor talks through the challenges he’s encountered so far and work he’s doing to mend those fences.
Jake Wieneke and Nic Sulsky (CCO of PointsBet Canada) also stop by the program to chat the latest CFL. Nic Sulsky/PointsBet Canada recently announced a new partnership with the Ottawa REDBLACKS to provide live, in person sports betting at their stadiums throughout the season. The goal is that single-game sports betting can help increase fan interest both in Canada and across North America. Jake Wieneke is preparing for the 2022 CFL season, we discuss his off-season regime and preparations to return back north in a few month to play Canadian football.
