New Orleans Breakers Add Two, Release Five

On Thursday, the New Orleans Breakers announced several roster changes, including two new offensive line additions and a few surprising roster cuts.

Players released by the New Orleans Breakers include:

  • RB – Larry Rose III
  • DB – Dartez Jacobs
  • RB – Jordan Ellis
  • OT – Toree Boyd
  • DE – T.J. Johnson

The release of running back Jordan Ellis is a surprise, as he played a prominent role in the running game last season. However, significant changes have been inevitable with new head coach John DiFilippo and new general manager Ryan Jones at the helm.

In terms of additions to the roster, New Orleans added two players to their interior offensive line, former Merrimack College offensive guard Clayton LeGault, and former Troy offensive guard Kirk Kelley.

OG – Clayton LeGault

College Accolades: All-New England (2021), All-NEC Second Team (2021)

OG – Kirk Kelley

College: Troy (2015 – 2018)

College Accolades: All-Sun Belt Third Team (2017), All-Sun Belt First Team (2018)

Pro Experience: Louisville Extreme (2021), Vegas Knight Hawks (2022)

Jordan Eliis is quite a surprise to be on this list. To me, either John D. has not watched the old games or there is something else to the story.
