The USFL held a 10-round college draft with each team selecting 10 players. The Philadelphia Stars addressed the trenches early and often, picking up three offensive linemen.
Cunningham oozes potential and is an electric playmaker on both sides of the football. He can cover deep and in the box and is a dangerous return man.
1. Destiny Vaeao – DT
The USFL has always been a feeder to the NFL, but this year the spring league also hopes to serve as an alternative for those not wanting to sign an NFL deal. As such, this week the USFL is holding a Supplemental Draft to help fill out its eight teams’ rosters.
Some familiar faces are emerging, including former NFL quarterback Randy Lauletta. The Senior Bowl MVP has the size, pro experience, and arm talent to draw interest from rival scouts.
Other names to watch include Toby Johnson, who played two games for the Vikings last season, and judi slot. He’s a big boy who can clog the middle of the defense. Kalani Vakameilalo is another 6-4, 300-pounder who can provide run support. He was a big playmaker at Oregon State, posting seven interceptions in three seasons.
2. Chris Bostick Jr. – OT
This guy is a mauler, and you don’t get that in just any college offensive tackle. He blew up the tape when he was at North Carolina State, and after making the Panther’s active roster and the Jet’s practice squad, this is a last chance to prove that he can stick in the NFL.
He’s got the fluidity and length to excel in pass protection but needs to add power in his lower half to play at a high level on the next level. His footwork is excellent, though, and he’s a smooth blocker who’s easy to read.

3. Shea Patterson – QB
Shea Patterson was one of the more intriguing picks to come off the board in the 2022 USFL draft. He was a two-year starter at Michigan and he is one of the league’s best running quarterbacks.
Six games into the rebooted USFL, however, Patterson was waived by the Michigan Panthers. The team is currently tied for the worst record in the league, and their issues have largely stemmed from an ineffective passing offense.
Despite the disappointing start for Shea Patterson, he is still an intriguing player of slot gacor to watch. The New Orleans Breakers claimed Patterson off waivers on Wednesday and he could compete with current starting quarterback Kyle Sloter for the job in the near future. Patterson is a mobile quarterback who keeps his eyes downfield for receivers making late-route adjustments and can make quick decisions in the heat of battle. He is also adept at throwing the deep ball. He threw for over 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns last season.
4. Jose Ramirez – LB
The USFL has a history of supplying future NFL talent to the league’s eight franchises. Richmond quarterback Kyle Lauletta could be next in line. The former Senior Bowl MVP has the size, prototypical arm talent, and resume to draw a lot of interest from rival scouts this spring.
The Generals were tasked with bolstering their running slot online this offseason, so they chose a back that can break through tackles with his size and speed in Darius Victor. He ripped off some impressive runs during his time in the XFL and looks like a fit for their offense.
Position versatility is key for any USFL team, which is why New Jersey went local with their second pick in the draft by taking Tennessee State’s Brandon Haskin. The 6-foot-3 320-pound swing lineman can play at center, guard, or tackle and will add depth to their unit. He is a good blocking prospect and will not be easily overwhelmed by opposing teams.
