The United States Football League (USFL) made its opening season last year and one couldn’t have hoped for a better start. The fans were in thousands and the engagement surrounding the campaign, both at the stadiums and in front of the televisions, was surprisingly big. Now, the league prepares for its second year and while most of the things will be the same as last season, there are a couple of things to take notice of.
The 2023 season of the USFL features eight teams, each located in a major city across the United States. The teams are the New Jersey Generals, Pittsburgh Maulers, the Memphis Showboats, the Houston Gamblers, the Michigan Panthers, the Philadelphia Stars, the Birmingham Stallions, and the New Orleans Breakers. It was announced at the end of 2022 that the Memphis Showboats were to replace the Tampa Bay Bandits.
