What We Can Expect of the New NFL Season

The NFL season will kick off on September’s first weekend, with defending champions looking to start on a high against the Ravens. People have high expectations for the Chiefs’ quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, and hope he’ll help the team defend the Superbowl title. The same goes for stars like Lamar Jackson and other players who got significant contract extensions.

Additionally, fans will be expecting great performances from top-tier teams. The following article discusses things we should anticipate from the new NFL season. Read through to see the surprises and upsets that may occur.

Close Games

Games with close-point margins have been the norm in the previous seasons. They are entertaining, of course, if your team wins. The first match-up between the Chiefs and Ravens is a great example, with both squads capable of winning it all.

Also, teams have revamped their squads to gain a better competitive edge. For instance, the Eagles acquired Saquon Barkley to improve their running game and chances of returning to the finals. As a Betway fan, the Eagles will be a great bet option. This is considering their squad strength, which includes stars like Jalen Hurts and top receiver Brown.

Team Improvements

Various teams, like the Steelers and the Broncos, underperformed in the 23/24 season. They’ll look to improve and perhaps replicate the Lions’ impressive comeback season (23/24).

Meanwhile, the Browns have been vocal about their growth in the off-season. True to that,  quarterback Deshawn Watson will return at the season’s start. Cleveland Brown can capitalize on last year’s excellent record.

Breakout Teams

Houston Texans and the Detroit Lions are great examples of teams expected to chase it all. Firstly, Houston has a new star, C.J. Stroud, who surprisingly inspired them to the last playoffs. Additionally, the team has acquired running back Joe Mixon as a new Stroud asset, who is a good pick for Betway bettors looking for individual player bets.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Lions, led by Jared Goff, will try to capitalize on their excellent 23/24 season and hopefully reach the Superbowl final. However, they’ll get competition from the ever-improving San Francisco 49ers. Coach Kyle Shanahan has a mission to correct the mistakes from the last playoff.

Chiefs to Go for the 3-Peat

Kansas City Chiefs players like Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are eying for a third title in a row. This will be the first in the NFL’s history and a dream for most Chiefs fans. According to other stars like Chris Jones, the inspiration comes from Michael Jordan’s NBA championship 3-peat wins in the 1990s.

Considering their squad’s strength, the Chiefs might win the third title in a row. Apart from losing defender Lajarius Sneed, coach Andy Reid has carefully acquired reliable players. This includes a speedy rookie wide receiver, Xavier Worthy, and bringing back Juju Smith-Schuster.

Most Improved Players

Notable names like Saquon Barkley, Deshawn Watson, Russel Wilson, Baker Mayfield, and Josh Allen need a reviving season to prove their superstar status and skills. If a player like Lamar wins again the most improved player title, there will be no surprises.

Conclusion

Therefore, there’s much to expect from the new NFL season, including great team and individual player performances. For instance, Lions and Texans fans expect nothing less than a championship appearance. Only time will tell how the season will progress.
