Birmingham Stallions Off-Season in Review: Specialists

As the USFL Off-Season has been ongoing since the Stallions won their second Championship in July it only took till July 12th for the Stallions to get things cooking. To kick off the off-season the Stallions signed their Long Snapper Ryan Langen and their Punter (twice) Colby Wadman in late July and late September.

Headlining the Stallions Special Teams room is of course Brandon Aubrey. Aubrey the Soccer player turned Kicker has been at the forefront of Alt-Football circles for several months as the Notre Dame alum continues to impress 10 plus weeks into the NFL season for the Dallas Cowboys possibly enroute to a Pro Bowl berth during his rookie NFL season.

Staying put in Birmingham will be Special Teams stalwarts Colby Wadman and Ryan Langen. Both have been with the Stallions since 2022, earning Two USFL championships, and each player earning All-USFL Honors in 2023. Wadman did temporarily leave Birmingham to Punt for the Commanders however resigned back to the USFL shortly after. Moving forward Birmingham continues to have one of the more dominant Special Teams units regardless of who their Kicker is going into 2024.

Overall, the Stallions remain without a kicker going into Thanksgiving and could dive into a plethora of specialist who find themselves on and off the waiver wire for NFL, XFL, and USFL teams. With GM Zach Potter at the helm it appears that Birmingham will continue to be in good hands regarding finding the missing pieces that have went forth to NFL camps.
