Curt Menefee and Joel Klatt are expected to be Fox’s top USFL booth for the upcoming 2022 season. Both were the network’s top team in 2020 calling XFL games so both are familiar with spring football. Also Kevin Kugler will be involved in USFL broadcast as well. The Markcast first broke the story.
The league is expected to make the official announcement next week, ahead of the April 16th kick-off. The USFL is also expected to announce sideline reporters as well.
John Ourand of Sports Business Journal also confirmed the news on Menefee and Klatt.
I’ve learned that Curt Menefee and Joel Klatt will be Fox Sports’ top USFL announcing team this season. Menefee and Klatt will be in the booth 12 days from now when the league kicks off with an opening game that will simulcast on both Fox and NBC.
April 16 at 7:30pm ET will be a big day when the New Jersey Generals take on the Birmingham Stallions. Fans will see their familiar faces on both Fox and NBC. Most of America still does not know the USFL is back but on that day they will. With names like Menefee and Klatt calling the game, it will give the league an added benefit of legitimacy to football fans.
