The New Orleans Breakers have had quite a busy offseason. Between quarterback Kyle Sloter leaving to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguar and later the XFL’s Arlington Renegades, Head Coach Larry Fedora stepping away from football, and General Manager Matt Boockmeier leaving his position to pursue other opportunities, we knew there was a very good chance the Breakers looked a bit different in 2023.

New head coach John DeFilippo and new General Manager Ryan Jones took over the team in the back half of 2022, and those changes have been coming to fruition ever since. The Breakers added HBCU standout quarterback Aqeel Glass early in December, and several other additions have followed in the leadup to the league’s second season.
