NBC Sports and FOX Sports to Present All 43 USFL Games Live During Inaugural Season

STAMFORD, Conn. – May 26, 2022 – The USFL North Division-leading New Jersey Generals (5-1) can clinch a playoff berth when they play quarterback Jordan Ta’amu and the Tampa Bay Bandits (3-3) in a matinee this Saturday at noon ET on USA Network from Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Ala. The Generals can clinch a postseason berth with either a victory or with losses by both the Michigan Panthers and Pittsburgh Maulers.

New Jersey won their fifth consecutive game last Sunday defeating the Houston Gamblers, 26-25, on a last-second rushing touchdown by quarterback Luis Perez. Perez also threw for 159 yards and a touchdown, while wide receiver KaVontae Turpin recorded 10 catches for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Turpin leads the USFL in receiving yards (341).

The Bandits fell 35-28 to the Philadelphia Stars last Saturday. Ta’amu threw for 333 yards and four touchdowns while also rushing for 61 yards in the loss.

Paul Burmeister will handle play-by-play alongside former Dallas Cowboys head coach and NFL quarterback Jason Garrett (analyst) for Saturday’s Generals-Bandits game. Zora Stephenson will serve as sideline reporter.

Sunday’s matchup features league passing touchdowns leader Clayton Thorsen (10) and the Houston Gamblers (1-5) playing quarterback Case Cookus and the Philadelphia Stars (3-3) at 6 p.m. ET exclusively on Peacock.

Thorsen passed for 171 yards and three touchdowns, including two caught by running back Mark Thompson, in the Bandits’ 26-25 loss to the Generals last Sunday. The Gamblers defense features the USFL’s leading tackler, linebacker Donald Payne (76), and sack leader, defensive end Chris Odom (eight).

Running back Matt Colburn II rushed for a season-high 140 yards and three touchdowns, while Cookus threw for a pair of touchdowns in Philadelphia’s 35-28 victory over Tampa Bay last Saturday.

Burmeister (play-by-play) and former NFL fullback Michael Robinson (analyst) will call Sunday’s matchup exclusively on Peacock. Corey Robinson will serve as the sideline reporter.

NBC Sports and FOX Sports, the USFL’s official media partners, will combine to present all 43 games live this inaugural season. For the 2022 USFL season, NBC Sports will present 22 games on NBC (9), USA Network (9), and Peacock (4), which will also stream all games broadcast on NBC. FOX Sports will carry 22 games split between FOX (14) and FS1 (8). The combined regular-season coverage on NBC and FOX will give the USFL 22 broadcast windows, more than any regularly scheduled sport in the first half of 2022.
