USFL Games Today On TV
Birmingham Stallions at Philadelphia Stars, 12 pm ET on NBC
The undefeated home town Stallions take on the 2 – 2 Stars. Philadelphia will be without star QB Bryan Scott who is out with a knee injury. QB Case Cookus got the win last week in a close game with the Michigan Panthers. Can he take down the undefeated Stallions, we will have to tune in and find out.
QB Alex McGough is back from injury and looks to light things up with WR Victor Bolden Jr. The 27-year-old receiver out of Oregon State had 10 targets last week against the Tamp Bay Bandits.
The Stallions are 4-0, and the Stars are 2-2. The Stars need a win to keep pace with the first place Generals.
Pittsburgh Maulers at Houston Gamblers, 4 pm ET on FOX
Is this the week that the Pittsburgh Maulers break the chicken salad / pizza curse and win their first game. The team released QB Josh Love and first round pick QB Kyle Lauletta is ready to take the helm. He threw for 169 yards on 32 attempts with 17 targets to WR Tre Walker. If the team came open up the passing game, their solid run attack with London and Groshek could pound the ball and control the clock.
Houston’s games have been close in their losses. Their offence needs to come out early and establish the lead. With a good defense a win could pull the Gambles out of the bottom of the South.
The Maulers are 0-4, and the Gamblers are 1-3. Both teams most likely will not make the USFL playoffs. This is the battle of worst teams in the USFL. No one wants that moniker.
