Our USFL News Hub staff give their picks for Sunday’s Championship matchup.
Mark Perry: Stallions
“I think the Stallions will take it all. Birmingham has been the top team all season long. The Stars was my pick for the Championship in the Pre-Season so that I wouldn’t mind an upset.”
Kyle Sheridan: Stars
“Historically, they are the most decorated, so it’d be cool to see them continue the winning tradition.”
Matt Lyons: Stallions
“My head says Stallions, but my heart says Stars 😅… I gotta go with my head, I think. Gonna say Stallions win with a final score of 28-24.”
Evan Willsmore: Stallions
“Stallions 26, Stars 23. While the Stars pulled off a somewhat surprising upset against the New Jersey Generals, the Stallions have always been the most complete team in the USFL since week 1. The Stars should be competitive and give Birmingham a run for their money, but it’s hard to imagine a scenario where the “hometown” team doesn’t come out on top.”
Anthony Miller: Stallions
“Stallions 24 Stars 18: Birmingham’s balanced attack offensively should lead to them winning time of possession, keeping the ball out of Case Cookus’ hands. With Matthew Colburn out for this game, it gives the Stallions’ defense an easier time just focused on stopping the passing game.”
Sam Just: Stars
“I’m rocking with Philly. They’re gonna win that Championship.”
Mike Mitchell: Stallions
“Stallions 33 Stars 27. MVP Bo Scarborough”
Reid Johnson: Stallions
“Birmingham wins it all, proves they don’t need “hometown” crowd. Stars are my team, but they’re just too banged up after their brutal Championship appearance-clinching performance. 27 – 14 Stallions win.”
