Defensive Signings Recap: Panthers Retain Three Key Pieces for 2024

Amid merger talks with the XFL the Michigan Panthers went to work to quickly resign three versatile pieces of the 2023 Defense. Throughout the month of September, the Panthers brought back S Cory Rahman, DE Ventral McMillan, and 2023 Draft Pick DaShaun White, prior to the USFL’s Free Agency that began on October 1st.

White rejoins the Panthers after a stint with the Buffalo Bills during 2023 NFL training camp. White was selected by the Panthers in the 5th Round of the USFL Draft by Michigan joining the team on May 18th, appearing in 4 games for the Panthers. He’ll be joined by 3rd year USFL players Ventral McMillan and Cory Rahman both of whom look to build upon their 2023 seasons.

The well-traveled McMillan is set to remain in Michigan for his third season with the Panthers in 2024. A veteran of the CFL, IFL, and XFL (2.0), the FCS product has totaled 16 tackles and 2.5 sacks since joining Michigan in 2022. Along with McMillan, Cory Rahman from Tennessee State also returns for 2024. The Safety has totaled 19 tackles and a fumble recovery for a touchdown over the past two seasons.

Currently the Panthers roster sits at 45 players per the fox sports website. As USFL free agency is now in full swing, look for Mike Nolan and Steve Kazor to continue to revamp and retool in hopes of leading the Panthers to a championship run in 2024.
