Keep Being Great: Frank Ginda Earns NFL Contract with Atlanta Falcons

After almost Two Years of waiting, Frank Ginda is going back to the NFL. The 2023 USFL Defensive Player of the Year, will be joining the Atlanta Falcons for his first opportunity in the NFL since 2019. After a solid 2023 campaign stacking plenty of hardware, Ginda now joins his 4th NFL team.

Ginda has played for the Panthers in both seasons since the return of the USFL, serving as a team captain both years, second in the USFL in tackles in 2022 and Defensive Player of the Year in 2023. Ginda also earned 4 Defensive Player of the Week awards enroute to an All-USFL selection. Ginda has previously spent time with the Cardinals, Dolphins and Saints, the San Diego Fleet of the AAF and the New York Guardians of the XFL. Now joining the Falcons for his 1st NFL opportunity since 2019.

Ginda was released from his NFL contract late Saturday evening along with Panthers QB EJ Perry. With the recent barrage of USFL to NFL signings, Ginda joins 8 of his former Panther teammates and 30 USFL alums to embark on their NFL journey after the 2023 season. Currently the Panthers roster sits at 52 players as NFL teams go into the 2nd week of preseason games. With more Panthers players earning workouts, and the Tom Goodhines GRID CAMPs taking place look for Michigan’s roster to look completely different in 2024.

    Congratulations, Frank. Well deserved. I have noticed on defense the players getting picked up, read, then full speed. They know the game that well and move. Breeland Speaks, Levi Bell and Frank Ginda. High energy. all the time. Good luck!
