Injuries are apart of every football season, and the Michigan Panthers are not an exception. After defeating the Houston Gamblers in their week 1 grunge match 29-13, the Panthers made a series of transactions Wednesday morning. Michigan placed 2nd year Safety Cory Rahman on their injured reserve list, and have signed East Tennessee State Alum Tyree Robinson to the team.

Rahman was a late signing by the Panthers in 2022. The Tennessee State Alum was utilized as a reserve Defensive Back before being thrusted into the starting lineup late in the year. Rahman, made his impression on the team during the 2022 finale scoring a touchdown on a “scope and score” play against the Maulers. To replace Rahman, the Panthers brought in Tyree Robinson, from East Tennessee State.

Robinson is fresh off a training camp opportunity with the Carolina Panthers in 2022. The Defensive Back from Georgia, started 42 games in college, totaling 255 tackles and 11 interceptions in college while playing at the FCS level. With Rahman on the injured reserve list, and KiAnte Hardin inactive last week due to an injury, Robinson may have an opportunity to make his professional debut, in week 2 against the Stars.

With the injury of Cory Rahman, another player that may need to step up is NFL Veteran Delano HIll. Hill was inactive last week with KiAnte Hardin and was signed by the Panthers in the offseason. With the Panthers now facing injuries in the secondary, and going up against the high-flying Philadelphia Stars, Defensive Coordinator Steve Brown will look to one of his former collegiate defensive backs to slow down Case Cookus and company.
