Panthers Sign 2023 Draft Pick Santrell Latham, Bringing the Roster to 50

The 50th player on the Michigan Panthers is a mystery no more. After cutting several players earlier in the week, the Michigan Panthers added their 3rd pick from the USFL’s 2023 College Draft. The Panthers would add Santrell Latham out of Southern Miss, to supplement Coach Runza’s Linebacker Corps.

Latham’s was the 16th overall pick of the USFL’s College Draft in February. The former Golden Eagle spent Six seasons with the totaling 245 Tackles, 9.5 Sacks, and 1 Interception during his collegiate career per Football DB. Latham joins the Panthers Linebacker room consisting of Paddy Fisher, Frank Ginda, Noah Dawkins, and Terry Myrick.

Being a late addition to the Panthers, it’s extremely intriguing to see how quick Latham sees the field in the upcoming season. With the Panthers deep at LB Latham projects to be a huge asset on the Panthers Special Teams Units in addition to supporting the team’s Linebacker room. Regardless for the Panthers to retain a drafted player is a victory in itself, speaking volumes to the team’s GM Stever Kazor in evaluating talent.
