NBC Sports and FOX Sports to Present All 43 USFL Games Live During Inaugural Season

STAMFORD, Conn. – June 9, 2022 – NBC Sports presents a USFL doubleheader this Saturday featuring the top two teams in the league, headlined by the North Division-leading New Jersey Generals (7-1) against the Michigan Panthers in a divisional matchup at 1 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock from Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Ala. The Birmingham Stallions (8-0) will look to stay undefeated when they face the Houston Gamblers in NBC Sports’ second game on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET on USA Network.

New Jersey won its seventh consecutive game defeating the Pittsburgh Maulers, 29-18, last Friday. USFL leading rusher Darius Victor registered 106 total yards (87 rushing, 19 receiving) and added three scores to his league-leading rushing touchdown total (nine) for a Generals offense that also features the league’s receiving yards leader KaVontae Turpin (444).

Quarterback Paxton Lynch threw for 251 yards and two touchdowns while also adding 20 yards and a score on the ground in Michigan’s 46-24 loss to the Philadelphia Stars last Sunday.

Jac Collinsworth will handle play-by-play alongside former Dallas Cowboys head coach and NFL quarterback Jason Garrett (analyst) for the Generals-Panthers game. Zora Stephenson will serve as sideline reporter.

The South Division-leading Stallions will look to keep their undefeated season alive Saturday against the Gamblers at 6 p.m. ET on USA Network. Birmingham beat the New Orleans Breakers 10-9 last Saturday behind 183 passing yards and a touchdown by quarterback J’Mar Smith and three interceptions by the defense.

The Gamblers defense is led by the USFL’s leading tackler, linebacker Donald Payne (96), and sack leader, defensive end Chris Odom (11). In their 13-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Bandits last week, Payne registered 11 tackles and Odom had three sacks.

Paul Burmeister (play-by-play) and former Denver Broncos offensive lineman Ryan Harris (analyst) will call Saturday’s Stallions-Gamblers matchup, with Corey Robinson reporting from the sidelines.

WWE Raw superstars Happy Corbin and Carmella will be interviewed during the game on USA Network as part of the USFL’s WWE Night.

NBC Sports and FOX Sports, the USFL’s official media partners, will combine to present all 43 games live this inaugural season. For the 2022 USFL season, NBC Sports will present 22 games on NBC (9), USA Network (9), and Peacock (4), which will also stream all games broadcast on NBC. FOX Sports will carry 22 games split between FOX (14) and FS1 (8). The combined regular-season coverage on NBC and FOX will give the USFL 22 broadcast windows, more than any regularly scheduled sport in the first half of 2022.
