Showboats Bring Back QB Guy Myers Prior to Dispersal Draft

Guy Myers is back in the USFL. After a stint with the Generals and the 2022 Bandits the University of Charleston Alum (D-II) has come back to the league prior to the impending dispersal draft on December 15th.

Myers came to Charleston by way of Northeast Oklahoma (D-II), and Mississippi Delta Community College. At Charleston Myers threw for 2658 Passing Yards, 18 TDs, along with 18 Touchdowns on the ground. Myers was with the Showboats in the beginning of the 2023 season however, was released in favor of Ryan Willis last January. Myers brother D.J. also spent the 2023 with the Showboats on their inactive roster.

Myers was one of Three QBs signed prior to the dispersal draft taking place this Wednesday. While the Showboats currently roster Ryan Willis and Cole Kelley the addition of Myers could be used to either supplement their roster or allow the QB to be picked up by other teams. Last season the Showboats went 5-5 and will be led by John DeFilippo in 2024 though the league has not formally announced the coaching change.
