Showboats Bring Back John Atkins For 3rd USFL Season

A staple in the revamped Bnadits/Showboats franchise John Atkins has returned for his 3rd season in spring football. One of the elder statesmen of spring football, the 30-year was announced by the team to be joining the Showboats for his Seventh Season in pro football.

Atkins was an All-USFL selection as an interior Defensive Lineman in 2023. Buoyed by a great week Seven totaling 4 Tackles, 2 Sacks, 2 TFLs, and 5 Pass Deflections. Over Two seasons in the USFL, Atkins has totaled 55 Tackles, and 3.0 Sacks, becoming one of the league’s most disruptive linemen.

Currently the Showboats sits at 50 players going into the middle of December. The Georgia native is in line to become one of the Showboats key leaders in 2024 as the team goes into a merger without a Head Coach. Haley has led the Bandits/Showboats a 9-11 record since the return of the USFL in 2022. For more insight on the merger check out the video below:
