Showboats Set to Host Youth Combine December 10th

While merger talks continue to be on the minds of USFL fans, the Memphis Showboats a “safe” franchise released a statement regarding community engagement yesterday. Memphis announced that on December 10th the Showboats would be putting on a youth combine featuring Cole Kelley, and Matt Burrell in attendance. While not stated on the press release the team also posted a picture via “X”, hinting that Ryan McDaniel and Derrick Dillon may be in attendance.

With the creation of the youth combine/skills clinic in the Memphis area, the Showboats continue to build up their fan base for the 2024 season. With a selection of Showboats players from the 2023 season in addition to integrating a High School Football staff to assist, the Showboats “brand” is surely able to increase in 2024.

Last season the Showboats went 5-5 under 2nd Year Head Coach Todd Haley who is not expected to return in 2024. With the merger talks completed and early reports of Memphis “surviving” the merger the Showboats could be one of the more solidified fan bases in 2024. The new spring football season is scheduled to kickoff March 30th, for the 2024 season.
