Stallions Re-Sign Deon Cain, Bring In Kenny Robinson

While merger confirmations continue to leak out and a press conference in San Antonio is taking place the Birmingham Stallions added two pieces to their team on November 30th. Birmingham was able to finalize a deal with Deon Cain the 2023 USFL Championship MVP, along with 2020 XFL Alum Kenny Robinson from the St. Louis Battlehawks.

Cain was signed by Birmingham on March 8th just weeks before the USFL season. In Eight regular season games Cain totaled 16 receptions for 182 Yards. Cain also proved to be a valuable asset on the Stallions special teams unit, totaling 22 returns for 606 return yards enroute along with Two touchdowns. Cain also was awarded USFL Special Teams Player of the Week award in week 4. In the USFL championship Cain caught Four passes for 70 Yards, Three of which were for Touchdowns.

Also joining Birmingham is Kenny Robinson. Robinson joined the XFL in 2020 in hopes of supporting his mother who was sick with cancer. The West Virginia Alum was an instant playmaker for the Battlehawks being named to the 2020 All-XFL team earning a contract with the Carolina Panthers where he would stick around for Three seasons. Robinson spent 2023 with the Pittsburgh Steelers during their training camp however was released.

Currently the Stallions the roster will be up to 55 as the merger with the XFL is finalized. With the Stallions looking to “defend” their crown in 2024, Birmingham will be up against a new crop of talent and a new challenge. Birmingham has been 21-3 since their return to pro football in 2022.
