The New Orleans Breakers (3-0) kept their perfect record intact as they defeated the Birmingham Stallions (2-1) in a thrilling matchup at Protective Stadium. The Breakers emerged victorious with a final score of 45-31, handing the Stallions their first loss of the season.
New Orleans Breakers quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson had an impressive performance, completing 20 of 28 passes for 283 yards, with three touchdowns and one interception. The Breakers’ ground game was equally impressive, with running back Wes Hills rushing for 191 yards and three touchdowns on 34 attempts.
On the receiving end, Jonathan Adams led the Breakers with six catches for 75 yards and one touchdown, while Dee Anderson contributed three catches for 66 yards and a touchdown. Lee Morris also made a notable play, catching a 40-yard pass for a touchdown.
For the Birmingham Stallions, quarterback Alex McGough threw for 238 yards, completing 17 of 26 passes, with two touchdowns and one interception. Running back CJ Marable added a rushing touchdown on six carries for 24 yards. Davion Davis was the top receiver for the Stallions, hauling in five catches for 123 yards and a touchdown.
The Stallions’ defense, led by Robinson and Holley with 10 tackles each, couldn’t contain the Breakers’ offensive attack. Despite putting up a fight, Birmingham’s defense was unable to record any sacks or forced fumbles.
On the other hand, the Breakers’ defense stood out with four sacks and an interception. Eisworth II led the team with eight tackles, while Diggs and Saint-Amour both contributed with a combined 1.5 sacks. Fernandez came up with a crucial interception for the Breakers, helping to stifle the Stallions’ offensive momentum.
The Breakers will look to extend their winning streak as they continue the season, while the Stallions will regroup and attempt to bounce back after their first loss. The USFL football action continues to heat up as these teams battle it out for supremacy.

With the high scores in these games I think maybe next year they should tweak it that kickoffs go back to the 25. Starting field position is just too good. Great game though! Of course this will not be the last we have heard of the Stallions!
