So far 14 USFL players have been signed as of the 25th of July, to NFL squads, with even more coming in the next several days. Most recently, Aaron Wilson shared a tweet that is going viral, for Pro Football Network of all the NFL Workouts and it has a lot of familiar names on this list. On it has Five names that were most recently with the Michigan Panthers.
In late June I wrote an article about Five Panthers I thought would get an NFL try-out to prove themselves in Camp. So far, no Panthers have really been on an NFL radar with only former Panthers Jeff Badet and Chase DeMoor getting any XFL attention. However, this week it looks like Lance Lenior, Connor Davis, La’Michael Pettaway, Ishmael Hyman, and TJ Carter.
While Lenoir was definitely one of my top picks to make a return to the NFL, he is not the only former Panther with NFL experience. Hyman whose late season surge may have helped kick start his return to the NFL. Davis and Carter also have cups of tea with NFL Franchises while, La’Michael Pettway, the Hybrid-Pass Catching Tight End, is still searching for an opportunity with an NFL Franchise.
This week, San Franciso will host TJ Carter, Philadelphia will host Connor Davis and Lance Lenoir, New England will host La’Michael Pettway, and Indianapolis will host Ishmael Hyman, as the next group of Panthers who are searching for their next professional opportunity.
While it would be advantageous for all these players to stay with the Panthers, we obviously want these players to reach their goals of making it to the highest level of professional football. As the week progresses more USFL players are expected to get signed, and hopefully for the 2022 Michigan Panthers fanbase, we can continue to find small victories by seeing some of our favorite players continue to progress in their careers.
