Houston Gamblers’ Chris Odom Has Three NFL Workouts

After having arguably the best performances of the season, Houston Gamblers’ defensive end Chris Odom is lined up for NFL workouts.

Odom’s agent, Luis Bing, announced Wednesday that Odom was scheduled for three workouts with NFL teams.

None of the three NFL teams’ names were announced yet. As workouts happen, teams will report on who attended the workouts when they are completed. Fans should hear more information in the next day or so regarding who Odom was working out for.

Odom’s USFL season with Houston was one of the memorable performances of the season. He led the USFL in sacks with 12.5 in ten games played. Odom was also a league leader in blocked field goals (four) and forced fumbles (six). He also ranked third with eight tackles for loss. For his efforts on the season, Odom won Defensive Player of the Year in the USFL.

The news comes as no surprise as he has been mentioned as one of the players from Houston who should get some looks from the NFL. His previous experience playing with the Falcons, Packers, Dolphins, and Commanders helps his cause. He played in the NFL from 2017 until 2019 between the four teams.

The way he performed all season played a major role as he had 3.5 sacks more than the next player in the sack category. There weren’t many linemen who could handle blocking Odom all season as he established himself to be the best pass rusher in the USFL.

Not much doubt was cast on Odom getting workouts with NFL teams. It’s only a matter of time before he gets signed to an NFL team in time for training camp coming up in the next few weeks.
