Why you should watch: You should watch because it’s the debut of the USFL and should be electric. Football fans should recognize Stallion’s QB Alex McGough and his receiver Sage Surratt. Surratt showed out at Wake Forest and recently transitioned from Wide receiver to Tight end.
April 17th:
Houston Gamblers @ Michigan Panthers
Kickoff: 12:00 P.M. ET
Odds: Panthers -3.5
How to watch: Live on NBC and Peacock
Why you should watch: The game I am personally most excited about. The Panthers should be an interesting team, to say the least. Under center, they have former Michigan QB Shea Patterson competing with former NFL 1st round pick Paxton Lynch. Coaching these two is Jeff Fisher. This is an objectively funny trio and will be interesting to see how their season unfolds.
Philadelphia Stars @ New Orleans Breakers
Kickoff: 4:00 P.M. ET
Odds: Stars -2.5
How to watch: Live on USA Network
Why you should watch: Breakers QB Kyle Sloter never caught on in the NFL but he was a fan favorite with the Vikings and an NFL Preseason phenom. He regularly put up numbers in the preseason and I anticipate him to do more of the same in the USFL.
Tampa Bay Bandits @ Pittsburgh Maulers
Kickoff: 8:00 P.M. ET
Odds: Bandits -2.5
How to watch: Live on FS1
Why you should watch: The Tampa Bay Bandits may be the team to beat in the USFL. They are led by former NFL coach Todd Haley and at Quarterback, they have ex-XFL star Jordan Ta’amu. Although do not sleep on the Maulers, they are led by QB Kyle Lauletta. He has shown signs of being able to sling the ball at a high level.
