Memphis Showboats Bring Back All-USFL Tackle Jarron Jones

The Memphis Showboats made one signing late Thursday Night bringing back All-USFL Offensive Tackle Jarron Jones. This comes several weeks after the Showboats found out that Juwann Bushell-Beatty would be joining the St. Louis Battlehawks of the XFL. Thomas comes back to the USFL for his third year in Alt-Football.

Jones was undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft after coming out of Notre Dame. Since then, he’s bounced around with Eight NFL teams between training camp and their Practice Squad earning $326,800 over his NFL career. In 2020 Jones was drafted by the XFL’s New York Guardians starting 5 of 5 games for the 2020 iteration of the league. He’d spend the rest of 2020 with the Pittsburgh Steelers before getting cut in July of 2021 and then being suspended by the NFL while a free agent for Ten games.

Jones returns to the USFL after an All-USFL performance. He is one of four Showboats returning from last year’s offensive line following the transition from their move from “Tampa Bay” to Memphis. With a team in flux the welcome addition of Jones brings continuity to the team who sports a brand-new Quarterback, Backfield and several new receivers. Currently, the Showboats have 64 players on their roster going into the 2023 season.
