Panthers Add NFL Vet Delano Hill, Several Days Before USFL Draft

The Panthers did not stop, despite with the USFL College draft taking place on February 21st. After a quiet couple of weeks with limited roster transactions the Panthers added to their secondary, by bringing in an NFL Vet. On Friday February 21st the Panthers signed former Michigan Wolverine Delano “Lano” Hill, bringing him back to the great state of Michigan.

Hill was with the Wolverines from 2013 to 2016, earning All-Big Ten honors in 2016. He’d get drafted in the 3rd round by the Seahawks in 2017, appearing in 42 games for the Seattle Franchise over Four Seasons totaling 64 tackles with the team. In 2021, Hill spent training camp with the Carolina Panthers but was waived in August and has remained a free agent before joining the USFL.

Coming to Michigan, Hill looks to battle Cory Rahman, Warren Saba, and Sean Mahome for playing time in 2023. With the Panthers, releasing Keiron Williams, and seeing Sean “The Captain” Williams join the XFL, an experienced NFL vet like Delano “Lano” Hill, is crucial in leading a secondary, that overperformed in 2022, that is with out NFL Vets, like Tino Ellis, and Jameson Houston. Currently the Panthers roster sits at 64 going into the USFL’s College Draft on Tuesday.
