While NFL teams continue to reconfigure their rosters in preparation for the 2023 Season, the Michigan Panthers brought in Two players in hopes of making a championship run in 2024. Returning for his 3rd USFL season is Devin Ross a Wide Receiver out of Colorado, along with the 2023 #1 Overall Pick in the USFL Draft Jarrett Horst.
Ross has become an alt league fixture with stints in the XFL and now returning to Michigan for his third season. Ross has spent time with the Eagles, Titans, Patriots, even spending one day with the Raiders in 2023 season on their practice squad before getting cut. In Two seasons with the Panthers, Ross has totaled 28 Receptions 309 Receiving Yards for 1 Touchdown. He’s earned $225,000 in his NFL career per Spotrac.
On a mission to sure up the Offensive Line, the Panthers reached an agreement with the #1 Overall Pick in the 2023 USFL Draft Jarrett Horst. Horst has been pretty active since getting drafted by the Panthers, signing a contract with the Miami Dolphins, working out for multiple teams, and being selected by the XFL’s Orlando Guardians. Horst now comes to Michigan after beginning his college career at Ellsworth Community College, Arkansas State University, before finishing his career at Michigan State.
With the Panthers continuing to rebuild their ranks after the NFL took multiple key contributors, look for more Michigan Players to make their way back to Mike Nolan’s team. With Panthers seeing Wide Receivers like Kaden Davis, Trey Quinn, and D.J. Montgomery currently not on the roster Devin Ross offers a quality insurance blanket for Panthers Quarterbacks. Currently the Panthers roster sits at 52 moving into the second week of September.
