Panthers See QB EJ Perry Sign Contract with Houston Texans

EJ Perry is back in the NFL. After a masterful late season performance Perry proved enough to NFL scouts to warrant a return to the Houston Texans. Perry who played college football at Boston College and Brown University, will be given another opportunity to prove himself with Houston as he looks to continue his NFL career.

Perry was a late signing with the Michigan Panthers in 2023, after an injury to Carson Strong, and Eric Barriere getting claimed by the Generals. Perry was surprising given the start in week 10, willing the Panthers to a playoff berth, enroute to a 400-yard performance in the Northern Championship game. Despite the loss, Perry was able to rejoin the Texans, after being released on May 11th.

Perry is now the 8th Panther to join an NFL team. So far only Trey Quinn has been waived, after the Lions first preseason game. While Perry may be at a bit of a disadvantage to make the Texans, as he’ll be competing against Davis Mills, Case Keenum, and C.J. Stroud for a roster spot, look for the former Ivy-League star, to put on a show during the final Two weeks of the season in hopes of continuing his NFL career. Currently the Panthers roster sits at 52 players as Michigan continues into the off-season.
