The Memphis Showboats is releasing one the league’s most lovable players and a fixture of two Alt-Football Leagues. On Thursday Bruno Reagan announced that the Showboats would be releasing him via his twitter, with the team making an official announcement February 11th.
Reagan came out of Vanderbilt in 2019 after starting 40 games over Five Years at school. After a rookie mini -camp invite with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019, Reagan found himself getting drafted by the St. Louis Battlehawks in XFL 2020’s open phase portion of the Draft. Reagan would start Five games for the Battlehawks, linking up with Jordan Ta’amu and Keith Mumphrey before the pandemic prematurely ended the season.
In 2022, Reagan once again found his way into Alt-Football this time with the USFL. The then Tampa Bay Bandits drafted Reagan with the 3rd pick in the 20th round, reuniting him with his XFL Quarterback Jordan Ta’amu. His time in the USFL would be short, as a knee injury in the Bandits Week 3 game vs the Houston Gamblers would end his season. In August Reagan announced via twitter that he’d plan on coming back to the USFL for the now Showboats, however the team had other plans.
While it appears Reagan’s football career may be on a hiatus, the Alt-Football Fan Favorite has multiple projects he’s currently working on. The former Vanderbilt center operates his own Judo firm, in addition to hosting his own radio show. While Football may not be in his future Bruno has set himself for multiple avenues of success outside of the gridiron. For the Showboats the roster sits at 62 players going into the middle of February.
