The final week of the USFL’s regular season is here, and the New Orleans Breakers (6-3) are set to take on the Houston Gamblers (2-7) on Sunday, June 19th at 5:30 pm PT.
With playoff seeding already determined, Breakers head coach Larry Fedora plans to give some of his banged-up Breakers a rest before the postseason. In contrast, Kevin Sumlin’s Gamblers are eliminated from playoff contention, but with how close they’ve been to a few more wins this season, they want to end the season on a high note.
Weather
The forecast calls for sunny skies with a high of 92 degrees and 7 mph winds.

Injury Report
New Orleans Breakers
As expected, New Orleans will be resting quarterback Kyle Sloter before the teams push into the postseason. There are quite a few other banged-up Breakers at the moment, but it appears many will be game-time decisions. Even if some of them play, I expect their role to be somewhat limited.
Nevelle Clarke, DB: Probable (Hamstring, Groin)

Houston Gamblers
Houston will be without defensive back Jerry Cantave for their final game of the season. However, the team is pretty healthy compared to their opponents.

New Orleans Breakers – Houston Gamblers Prediction
With playoff seeding already decided, I’d expect the Breakers to let their foot off the gas a bit in Week 10. New Orleans is pretty banged up heading into the playoffs, and some of the guys could definitely use the rest. On the other side, Houston might be putting the pedal to the metal. With how close the Gamblers have been to winning more games throughout the season, I doubt they’ll let another one slip through their fingers.
Prediction: Houston Gamblers 20 – New Orleans Breakers 14
