After Stint with Rams, Showboats Bring Back Punter Brandon Wright

It’s been a wacky couple of weeks for punter Brandon Wright. The 2022 All-USFL punter has found his way back to the USFL, after a quick stint with the NFL’s LA Rams. Wright who was resigned by the Showboats for 2024 on August 22nd, saw himself back in the NFL on September 12th only to be released 7 days later.

Wright’s trip to Los Angeles wasn’t a waste though. Per Spotrac Wright earned $12,000 from the Rams during his 2nd stint with LA (3rd NFL contract). The former Georgia State Punter has been with the USFL since 2022 (then Showboats) and is locked in for 2024 amid merger talks.

Currently the Showboats roster sits at 48 players as the USFL offseason and merger talks continue with the XFL. Last season Memphis went 5-5 under head coach Todd Haley whose been the commander of the Showboats since 2022 when the team returned to the USFL with the Bandits.
