Showboats Sign 5th Round Draft Pick Michael Ezeike

After bringing back All-USFL Punter Brandon Wright, the Showboats were once again active in free agency during the USFL offseason. On October 10th the Showboats agreed to terms with their 2023 5th Round Pick out of UCLA Michael Ezeike.

Ezeike becomes the third Showboats player from the 2023 class to join Memphis. Ezeike spent the 2023 preseason with the Chargers however, was released during the final cuts. While at UCLA Ezeike totaled 35 receptions for 407 yards and 7 touchdowns during Five seasons in college.

Ezeike is now the Fourth Tight End on the Showboats roster after the departure of Daniel Helm. Currently Memphis per Fox Sports lists 48 players on their roster as USFL free agency progresses. With the USFL and XFL currently in merger talks, both leagues have continued to operate as “business as usual” until a merger is finalized. Last year Memphis went 5-5 during the 2023 season under Todd Haley.
