Houston Gamblers Place TE Julian Allen on Suspended List

The Houston Gamblers announced another move made as training camp approaches the completion of its first week.

Houston Gamblers made the announcement on Twitter Wednesday night that tight end Julian Allen was placed on the suspended list.

It’s not known at this time why Allen was placed on the suspended list. The move doesn’t necessarily mean he was suspended by the team for disciplinary reasons as it could be either he decided to leave the team or a multitude of other reasons. According to the Fox Sports website, Allen is still on the roster currently. No official statement has been made about the decision behind placing Allen on the suspended list.

Allen was on the Gamblers’ roster last season as he was one of their top tight ends on the team. He finished the 2022 season with ten catches for 116 yards on 17 targets. Prior to the USFL, Allen was a member of the Dallas Renegades of the XFL in 2020.

As a fan favorite, it is a tough blow to the Gamblers as they look to keep depth on the offensive side of the ball which was an advantage over their defense. All signs point towards Brandon Barnes being the early candidate to start at tight end for the team. Josh Pederson and Clint Sigg Jr. will also be competing for roster spots on the team as the team drops to three tight ends on the roster.
