Houston Gamblers Sign Former Las Vegas Raiders OL Jair Joseph

Behind an already experienced offensive line, the Houston Gamblers add some depth to the line for training camp.

The Houston Gamblers on Saturday announced the signing of offensive lineman Jair Joseph on Twitter.

Joseph had a successful college career locked in as the starting right tackle for Nichols State as he started in 2019 and 2021 spring year. He was named as Second and First Team All-Southland selection in 2019 and 2021. He didn’t miss a start during those two seasons as the team had one of the best rushing attacks in the country for two straight seasons.

Joseph went undrafted in the NFL Draft where he would sign with the Las Vegas Raiders last May. He would get cut by the team before the season started. Most recently, Joseph signed with the IFL’s Bay Area Panthers back in January.

Four of the five offensive linemen on the roster started the last game of the season for Houston which makes them the most experienced position group on the roster. The team is looking for someone to fill the role of the right guard with Avery Gennesy at right tackle, Nick Buchanan at the center, Tyler Higby at left guard, and Brandon Hitner at left tackle. Joseph has played both right tackle and guard at Nichols State which gives him an advantage in using his versatility to earn a roster spot.
