J’Mar Smith Rumored Clear to Play vs Bandits after Illness Designation

In the Birmingham Stallions’ injury report this week, they listed now fewer than 12 players as questionable with illness. Whatever story is behind this has yet to break, but in a league with short rosters this was certainly a concerning development. Especially because both QB’s J’Mar Smith and Montrell Cozart were listed.

Alex McGough was listed as probable with his ankle issue, but with their other QB’s in question it seems likely there would have been forced to field him regardless of the status of the ankle. It’s good to see McGough is making progress in his return to health, but more good news dropped earlier today as it appears J’Mar will be able to make the field. Per @Emilnem

Whatever is going through this locker room, I’m glad its not so severe that their Star QB will be held out, we’re still waiting to hear about the rest of the group, which includes impact starters Scooby Wright III, Demarquis Gates, Cary Angeline and more. Hope everyone gets well soon, glad its not COVID.

The Stallions take on the Panthers tomorrow night at 5:00 PM MDT, and we’ll see how many of their guys can make it back in time. Giddy up.
