The Pittsburgh Maulers haven’t been short of news lately. First, they announced they’d be playing the 2023 season in Canton, Ohio at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. Now, they’ve released their schedule for the 2023 season. Another step closer to the second season of USFL football kicking off. Without further delay, here’s who your Maulers will be facing off against and when this season.
In week one the Maulers will travel to Birmingham, Alabama to take on the New Orleans Breakers on April 16th. The following week on April 23rd, they’ll make their Canton, Ohio debut in a matchup versus the New Jersey Generals at home.
After their home opener, they’ll make their way to Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan to play the Philadelphia Stars on April 30th in Week 3. On May 7th, they’ll return home to take on the Birmingham Stallions.
They’ll quickly return to Detroit to take on the Michigan Panthers in Week 5 on May 13th. Following that matchup, they’ll stay on the road and make their way to Memphis, Tennesee to take on the Showboats on May 20th.
They’ll return home on the 27th to face off against the Philadelphia Stars, and they’ll stay home the next two weeks hosting the Houston Gamblers on June 3rd and the New Jersey Generals on the 10th. They’ll play the Generals in Canton the following week as well on the 17th, but they’ll be the designated away team in the final week of the regular season.
It’ll be a tough road to the USFL playoffs in year two. Teams have made improvements up and down the league, and the Maulers will have their work cut out for them this season. But their chances are as good as anybody’s on any given Sunday.
