A video posted on the USFL’s TikTok account is going viral after people saw a cigarette in a player’s mouth during practice.
The USFL posted a video on their TikTok account that spread throughout social media Friday that included Houston Gamblers linebacker Reggie Northrup going through drills with a fake cigarette.
Almost a million people have viewed the video already. Many thought that it was a real cigarette which caused some to question the decision. Northrup had to go on his Twitter page to explain that the cigarette is fake and that it is about an attitude mindset. It first started with a post showing a screenshot of the movie “The Longest Yard” with a player holding a cigarette in his mouth during the game.
“The Cig represents the attitude that I hit the field with…like the old school ballers in the 60s-70s they were some of the toughest meanest S.O.Bs on that field making plays after dragging a whole cigarette.”

Northrup is third on the team in tackles with 10.5 tackles, 1 pass deflection, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one defensive touchdown.
Northrup will join Houston on Saturday for their week three contest against the Tampa Bay Bandits at 4:00 pm EST.
