It’s been a busy day for fans of the Michigan Panthers. After seeing multiple players workout for NFL teams on Monday, the Panthers have seen Kaden Davis (Arizona), Levi Bell (Seattle), and now a 3rd player, get signed in the past two days. On Tuesday afternoon, the Panthers are now seeing Defensive Back Josh Butler earn an opportunity with the Dallas Cowboys.
Butler joins the Cowboys for his 1st opportunity with an NFL team. After spending his college career at Michigan State, Butler was undrafted in 2020, and would find his way to the Spring League in 2021 playing for the Conquerors in 2021. Butler joined the Panthers on March 22nd, quickly becoming one of Panthers most dependable Defensive Backs. Butler totaled 29 tackles playing opposite of Levonta Taylor.
The Panthers also brought back Walter Palmore for his 3rd season in the USFL with the Panthers. Palmore was signed in 2022 by Michigan in the April prior to the USFL’s opening kickoff. The former Mizzou product totaled 17 tackles in 2022 and 30 tackles in 2023. Palmore has also appeared in an NFL game and XFL game in 2020 with the Cowboys and Roughnecks respectively.
